Frequently Asked Questions

What's the maximum DPI?

Up to ~288 DPI (4× scale). Higher values produce sharper images at the cost of file size and memory.

Why is my PDF rendering with missing fonts?

Some PDFs embed proprietary fonts that the open-source pdf.js renderer can't fully reproduce. The text remains accurate, only the typeface may differ.

Can I extract embedded images instead of rendering pages?

We render each page so the layout and annotations are preserved exactly. For raw embedded images, you can use Compress PDF + a screenshot.
